About Me

I am a Ph.D. graduate student in biological oceanography at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. I am in Mark Ohman's lab.

I'm currently working on the abundance and ecological effects of plastic debris in the North Pacific Gyre. In August 2009, I served as chief scientist on the Scripps Environmental Accumulation of Plastic Expedition (SEAPLEX), a 20-day expedition to study accumulation of plastic debris in the central Pacific.
